  • About me
  • The first beat machine I ever used was the classic Roland TR-808 when I was just 15 and from then on, I was hooked. Got an MPC2000 in '99 and never looked back. For years, I've been searching out a software beat machine and tried just about everything, but Beat Thang really caught my attention. After playing with the demo, I have placed my order and hope to get my hands on the real Thang soon!

This product is very diverse. At times, It reminds me of the E-MU SP-12 (and 1200), the MPC60 and the Sequential Studio-440 with raw, punchy, gritty sounds that kick! The great thing about it that it lends itself to a wide range of musical styles rather than having a narrow sound set. The more you dig into this product, the more you'll be rewarded. When I started making my own kits, it really blew me away and when making instrument sounds, it really comes into it's own.

The hardware version really is the most desirable, but that doesn't mean the software is second place by any means, it's just as good. AU and VST plugin support is coming soon, so you'll have more than just the standalone version and be able to load it up in your DAW. This will really take it to the next level.

There will most likely be a lot of lazy people out there that will try and stay put with what they know but that really is a shame as if you do, you are missing out on what I feel is a modern day classic that's up there with the Hip-Hop legends of the SP-1200, MPC60, Studio-440 and TR-808. When you look at what you're getting here, it's pretty amazing value for money. I love this product and will no doubt order the hardware version in time.

I wouldn't want to be without it, even though I've only had it for a short time and don't know how I ever did without it. If beat making and producing is your thing, this is THE "Thang" for you!

And DJ Voyetra Aint Just Whistling Dixie!!!... Thanks Man for the Very Detailed & Honest Testimonial. I have to agree with every point you made.. not because I'm a Co-inventor, but BECAUSE.. I USE THIS THANG CONSTANTLY!!!

I DONT KNOW HOW I GOT ON WITHOUT IT. I STILL USE SOME OUTBOARD GEAR, and some programs for synth design... BUT ONLY TO LOAD IT INTO THE VIRTUAL!!!
Kit and Instrument Building is a Truly Overlooked Feature. I actually enjoy doing it here, where as before... I was a bit annoyed by process. And With This software being opened...ie.. Free updates, the possibilities are virtually Endless.. because it will grown in to a much more powerful and efficient machine. I am glad You like it man, because we do this for people like Us. You're Definitely a Kang in my book, Many Thanks, Much Respect and Welcome to the Camp. -BoomBAP

Co-Sign....Hell i got tons of gear but Virtual is my main piece now.... Because i get to make Beats as soon as i turn it on. Before i had to spend 30 mins setting up modules and plugins just to get to begin. Virtual i just turn it on and bang out!!! Thats what we keep trying to tell peeps. They'll figure it out
